Their annual daily contest–45 days’ worth–is a few days in, and I almost forgot to check in this time around. They give away great prizes, and somebody’s gotta win, right? Might as well be me–or you!
The daily sweepstakes features a different prize each day. Sometimes it’ll be pricey and fabulous, like today’s offering of a Megan Thorne diamond cocktail ring valued at $3,275, and sometimes it’ll be less pricey (but still decently fabulous), like a pair of bejeweled summer sandals (tomorrow’s prize).
The sweepstakes runs daily through March 20, and there’s no obligation or purchase necessary; just visit the site once a day and enter.
And speaking of fabulous free things–how many of you take advantage of Facebook as a resource for coupons and deals? Yes, there’s a certain amount of dreck you’ll have to scroll through on your main page, but it can pay off.
Merchants like Express and H&M regularly offer Facebook-exclusive deals and coupons, and give a first heads-up there on contests.
Two of my favorite merchants I’ve become a “fan” of are iTunes and Sprinkles cupcakes. iTunes posts a reminder each week about their free weekly downl
oads–a not-bad way to build up an eclectic playlist of music, and a lot of it pretty good–as well as occasional free samplers offered exclusively to Facebook fans. The current 20-song sampler is “Artists to Watch,” and it’s still available for download, so if you’re not a fan yet–well, why aren’t you? Who doesn’t love free music?
And if you’re lucky enough to have a Sprinkles Cupcakes shop in your town, they post a secret word every day on Facebook (and on Twitter, too). Walk into Sprinkles, whisper the secret word, and if you’re one of the first 3o or 50 (or however many they designate each day), you’ll get a free Sprinkles cupcake. How sweet is that?
Social networking is a great resource for saving money, so make use of it. It doesn’t cost a cent, and you’ll pick up some pretty nice deals for your trouble.
