They’re everwhere this fall, and you’ve probably already seen them featured in Vogue, Lucky, StyleWatch and just about every other fashion mag on the newsstand. They’re big. They’re bold. They’re gold. It’s eye-catching big bling for the neck, and you’re going to want some.

I’m a firm believer in never, ever dropping a lot of coin on trendy costume pieces, because chances are you’ll wear them for a season, then they’ll languish in the bottom of the jewelry box until they’re finally thrown out during a biennial cleaning frenzy.

Sam Moon–my favorite go-to for jaw-droppingly inexpensive costume jewelry and handbags. You’ll find the necklace pictured here, with matching earrings, for $14.95. You’ll even find a nice selection of bold gold necklaces in various lenths, including this longer bold link necklace for just $7.50–and, like most of Sam Moon’s pieces, with matching earrings.
Charlotte Russe is another place to look for this must-have on the cheap. I love this gold flower necklace, which also features a little gold and white enameling–and it’s just $9.99. It’s a great retro look.

Grab one or two of these statement pieces for fall and winter, but don’t spend a fortune on them.
