I’m sure I’m not the only budget fashion blog most of you read, and I certainly have my favorite go-to’s every day. Some of my favorites can be found on my Links page, but I thought I’d give a somewhat expanded list of the places I check in with daily to keep up with trends and deals (and you should, too).
First up: knowing the news and keeping up with trends.
FabSugar is part of Sugar Network, which is comprised of 16 distinct lifestyle and entertainment sites covering topics that include celebrity, fashion, shopping, beauty, entertainment, food, health and more. FabSugar covers trends and celebrities, with a little gossip on the side.
Glamour magazine’s Slave to Fashion blog is like a daily version of the magazine, with news, trends and tips posted throughout the day, blog-style. I also like InStyle magazine’s Look of the Day, which features celebrities looking their fabulous best, and it’s a good way to keep an eye on breaking trends.
StyleList is my favorite all-around fashion blog, and it covers trends, runs reader polls, gives GREAT how-to’s, and has a great news section that I check daily to keep up with breaking fashion news.
For truly cutting-edge fashion news, it’s tough to beat New York Magazine’s The Cut. Unless you have almost $400 to spend on a Women’s Wear Daily subscription (and the accompanying online subscription that comes with it), I don’t think you’ll find a better source for daily, breaking fashion news than The Cut.
And now, keeping up with deals–because there are always great deals to be had, if you know where to look. So, look here:
PinkDeals and RetailMeNot are absolute must-reads before you shop, and even when you’re just thinking about shopping, because they’ll tip you off to deals and discounts that you won’t find anywhere else. There’s also a handy search feature at RetailMeNot where you can quickly look for coupon codes before you close out your shopping cart at just about any online store.
And finally: my fellow travelers, my sisters in fabulosity, the other budget fashion bloggers. We all work hard on our little blogs, and these women have been at it even longer than I have, and do a darn good job. There are several out there that I read frequently, but here are three of my personal favorites:
Think of the internet as your own personalized budget fashion library, and use it to your budget’s benefit (and, of course, look fabulous while doing so).
