Christmas comes early to Target–Carlos Falchi bags in stores November 1!

by Robin on October 22, 2009

falchiHere’s another designer team-up I’ve been impatiently awaiting–super high-end Italian handbag designer Carlos Falchi’s line for Target is officially due to hit stores in November 1.  Bella!!

Here’s the lowdown from Target PR:

The Carlos Falchi for Target collection features the designer’s vivid combinations of color, pattern and texture in deep hues and jewel-tones on signature silhouettes. Hobos, satchels, shoulder and messenger bags in shades of plum, teal, brown, black and gray, are elegant yet functional with interior compartments and pockets large enough to fit everyday needs.

The exotic collection features Falchi’s iconic collage techniques and python-inspired solid prints finished with intricate stitch detailing at amazingly affordable prices. The Carlos Falchi for Target collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $49.99, in comparison to the high-end line which can cost as much as $4,000 per piece.

That’s democracy in fashion in action, and I heartily approve.  Who needs to buy a poorly made knock-off (not that any of us would ever do such a thing, of course) when you can buy the real thing at Target for under $50?

I’m crossing my fingers that there’ll be a bag similar to that gorgeous python number pictured here, which is way out of my budget.  This, unfortunately, is one of thbody-butterose blink-and-you’ll-miss-it lines, and will only be in stores until December 27–after that, you’ll be at the mercy of eBay vultures if you want to pick up any of the Falchi for Target designs.

Body Shop body butter on sale (cheap)!

Simply the best body butter out there, in my opinion, and the Body Shop runs it on sale 2 for $30–regular $20 each–a couple of times of year.

And it’s that time of year again, so go stock up.  My mom’s addicted (seriously) to their Moringa body butter, and I can’t live without the perennial favorite, the shea body butter.  All their products are made from Community Trade sustainable ingredients, are cruelty-free (no animal testing) packaged in recycled and recyclable materials, and a portion of their profits always go to charities such as women who are victims of domestic violence.

Yes, I say this every time I post about their products, and I do so because I think it’s important.  This is a company you definitely want to support, and they make fantastic products.

A quick p.s. for those of you who may have noticed that posts have been a little fewer and farther between the last few weeks:  My number one hobby is landscape photography, and the fall color season is probably the busiest time of year for those of us who get out and photograph such things.  I’ve been on the road as much as time (and my day job) will permit this month, but the leaves have turned, fallen, and I’m back at work, and back to tracking down all the usual great deals to pass along.
